Wichita Wind Ensemble
The Wichita Wind Ensemble has made it’s home at the new Forum Theatre. The Professional Band begins its 5th season in September of 2011. The WWE organization was formed in 1991 with honors student concert bands auditioned from schools across south central Kansas. The Advanced Band has won national and international competitions and travelled in Europe and Mexico.

The Professional Band, founded in 2007, is a 50-piece adult concert band auditioned from the top instrumental musicians in Kansas. Wichita is one of only a few metropolitan areas in the United States to host a professional adult wind ensemble. The Professional Band performs advanced traditional and new literature written for wind band. For four seasons, the band has hosted internationally renowned guest conductors and soloists from across the United States. In February, the Professional Band has been invited to present a concert at the Kansas Music Educators Association In-Service Workshop at Century II Convention Center in Wichita.
